Exploring Graffiti Through the Years: 2012–2025

It’s fascinating to see how street art evolves — and which pieces manage to survive over time. This site offers a visual journey through graffiti from 2012 to 2025, split into five year-based galleries: 2012, 2015, 2018, 2021, and 2025.
Each year brings more photos than the last — from just 68 images in 2012 to over 1,100 in 2025! These galleries are packed and perfect for anyone who loves urban art or just wants to see how the scene has changed.
Graffiti Doesn’t Last Forever
Street art is temporary by nature — it’s often painted over quickly. A good example is in the 2025 gallery:
Images 2025-101 and 2025-1161 show two different artworks in the same spot on Ann Street, taken just four weeks apart (Jan 15 and Feb 12, 2025). The first piece didn’t last long before it was replaced.
Artists Featured
You’ll find work from many well-known and emerging artists, including:
Guy Favela, Mick Mowgli, Sprite, Glimmertwin32, Snub23, Graffix Art, Molar, Minty, Sinna, MazCan, Cassette Lord, User, and more recently, Horace, who’s done some great work in Worthing.
(And yes — there are plenty more artists I haven’t listed!)
About the Photos
I’ve mostly avoided simple one-color tags — unless they appear in large, interesting clusters. In my opinion, these tags often spoil the surrounding art and don’t really add visual value.
Want to see the impact of tagging? Check out images 2025-1130 to 2025-1165 in the 2025 gallery — it’s the Lewes Road Underpass, a recent community art project that’s now been heavily tagged.
New for 2025: Location-Based File Names
In 2025, I updated the file naming system to include the street name where each piece was found. This makes it easier for anyone visiting Brighton to scout locations — though keep in mind, the art might already be gone.
Bonus Galleries
Beyond Brighton, there are a few extra galleries too:
• Hong Kong Trams
• WW2 Bunkers with Graffiti in France
• Graffiti from Ibiza

HAPPY VIEWING!
